Summary : Medieval settlement mentioned in Domesday Book. No evidence of the village remains.
More information : The lost village of Avethorpe, which was in the west part of the parish of Aslackby, near the site of the Aveland [TF 02 NE 1] is mentioned from the time of the Domesday Survey onwards. No trace remains. (1)

Perambulation in the proximity of the "Aveland" (TF 068296)
revealed no surface evidence of desertion.
