More information : TF 02501595 Crop mark of a ring ditch. (1) The crop mark is situated in undulating arable land some 61.0m above sea level and is under a high cereal crop. Perambulation impossible, but when viewed from a nearby railway embankment no surface irregularities could be seen. No finds of an archaeological nature were made around the field edges. OS air photographs not available for inspection. (2)
From an examination of all available air photographs, including those quoted in source 1 and OS and RAF photographs, a Bronze Age round barrow was ,more accurately, recorded at TF 0248 1599. The barrow is roughly circular, defined by 1 ditch, approximately 20m in diameter. At the centre of the barrow was the cropmark of a small circular pit (less than 1m in diameter). (Morph Nos.
