More information : [TF 0823 0534] 'The walls and mounds of an early castle' at the lower end of Barnack village, were cut through during the construction of the railway station. The station master has uncovered blocks of ashlar masonry from his garden, and it is possible to trace the foundations. The small river ran along its boundary. Barnack station is named on earlier maps. (1) No remaining trace of this feature could be identified. (2)
