MONUMENT NO. 346249

DESCRIPTION + /

The site of multi period occupation, (Iron Age, Roman and Anglo-Saxon). Field walking and excavation uncovered a Late Iron Age occupation site indicated by pottery finds. A Roman villa site is indicated by building remains, tesseallated floors, roof and flue tiles; pottery evidence suggests a late 3rd century AD date. Field walking indicates that the site may spread northwards into Nevill Holt parish. A possible Anglo-Saxon settlement site is indicated by pottery finds.
