Trial trenching and partial excavation by R W Griffiths and J Southernwood in Sep 1973 revealed extensive remains of a corridor villa, with at least two tessellated floors (both robbed) but round a cobbled churchyard. The villa was badly robbed in the 4th century. The site is marked by surface finds of fragments of tegulae, flue tile and tesserae.
