Summary : Royal residence at Kingsbury, immediately east of the church square. Extant in the 12th century.
More information : The traditional site of the royal residence at Aylesbury was Kingsbury (Area SP 818138). Henry I stayed here in 1105 or 1106 and Henry II is known to have had an inn or hospitium here, although no expenditure on its buildings is recorded. (1)
