Summary : Royal Hunting Lodge
More information : At Finmere Oxon. a hunting lodge was built in 1208 on
land belonging to the hermitage. In 1218 the hermit returned
and the land is described as "the place where the house of King
John was situated". House built 1207 under supervision of King's
chief forester Hugh de Neville (6).
