Summary : Great house probably rebuilt shortly after 1542, although property recorded since at least the 14th century. Burnt out 1745 and pulled down 1800, now only a brick octagonal tower, formerly the south west corner, and stone walling remain.

The remains of a brick octagonal tower and of stone walling,
situated north east of the present house at Rycote. It was
formerly the south west corner of a large house built by
Lord Williams of Thame who died in 1559. Destroyed by fire (3)
in 1745, and finally pulled down in 1800. (2-3)
