The grounds of Coton House "contain traces of an earlier moated site". (2)

"...Site of the ancient grange of the monks of Combe who had much land hereabouts... this site ... was formerly moated: some small portion of the moat still remains". (3)

Published survey 25" 1960 of moat correct. Coton House is modern - no remains of an earlier building are evident. (4)
