More information : When the Benedictine Nuns were expelled from Polesworth (SK 20 SE 2) after the Norman Conquest, they settled at Oldbury in a cell on the south side of the Camp (SK313947)
They returned to Polesworth c.1130, when Oldbury continued as a cell until the time of Henry II (1154-1189). A few years later only the chapel, dedicated to St.Lawrence, remained. Part of the chapel was still standing in 1656. (1-3)
