A bridge is mentioned in 1459 as being out of repair. (a).
The existing bridge was built about 1520 by Bishop Vesey and
is mentioned on his tomb in Sutton Coldfield Church.
It is built of rough ashlar and consists of six 15ft. round
arches and five 6ft. piers with cut-waters on both faces.
There have been later repairs, especialy to the points of the
east cut-waters (2).
Two carved stones, taken from the bridge in recent times, are
now in Curdworth Church (3). (2-4)

The desription in Authy. 3 is accurate. The carved stones are
still to be seen in the nave of Curdworth Church.
This bridge is still in regular use. Sdee G.P. F/53/165/4. (5)

Bridge, with solid parapets, over River Tame. Circa 1520,
erected at the cost of Bishop Vesey. Stone, 6 round headed
arches, cutwaters on both sides. Partly in North Warwickshire
District, Water Orton Civil Parish (formerly in Meriden Rural
District). (8)

Scheduled as 'Water Orton Bridge'. (9)
