ST JAMES CHURCH

A magnificent Cotswold wool church. Predominantly Perpendicular in style by William Grevil (died 1401) but incorporating part of the earlier Norman church and 13th-14th century sections (13th century south doorway, 14th century chancel walls and vaulted crypt ). Consists of west tower, 5 bay aisled and cleresteried nave with 2 storey south porch, 3 bay chancel over crypt over two aisles and north and south chapels. Fine quality ashlar.
