QUENINGTON COURT

DESCRIPTION + /

A 13th century postern gatehouse forms the only surviving remnant of the former preceptory of the Knights Hospitallers, which was founded between 1144-62, dissolved in 1540, and demolished in the 17th century. Quenington Court now occupies the site. This was one of the earliest Hospitallers Preceptories, founded by Walter, the first Prior of the Order in England.
