SITE OF BATH HOUSE AND ROMAN VILLA

DESCRIPTION + /

The site of a Roman villa at Whittington. Excavations identified a second century bath house which meant the presence of a contemporary villa nearby, but this was not located during the excavations. The bath house was incorporated into a villa during the second quarter of the 4th century. This comprised a corridor and three rooms, all having tessellated floors. The villa was extended some time later in the 4th century. Occupation continued into the 5th century.
