LISTERCOMBE BOTTOM ROMAN VILLA

The site of a Roman villa discovered in 1760. In 1930 it was partially excavated and a tessellated pavement , corridor and hypocaust were encountered. Finds from the site include six coins, 4th century pottery, nails, cosmetic palette and tiles. The site is now indicated by a light scatter of stone. Scheduled.
