Summary : A late 13th century church, damaged in 1644 and restored in 1695 and 1882; still in use. Possibly built on the site of an Anglo-Saxon church.

The late 13th century church of St. Mary Magdalene is apparently
the successor to the Domesday church of St. Mary, which stood on
part of the site of the minster. Ruined by the Parliamentarians
in 1644 and restored, 1695 and 1882. (2-3)
