The Austin friars settled in Lincoln about 1269-70. Leland noted the ruins of the Austin Friary on the south side of "the suburb to Newport Gate [SK 97 SE 74 a] The house was surrendered in 1539. (2)

The published site falls in a private garden. Nothing significant is known to have been found there. (3)
