More information : The upper portion of a Roman milestone of Valerianus [A.D. 253-259] "found in High Street, not far from Sibthorp Street, during the last half of the 19th century, and seems to have marked the first mile on the SW post-road to Leicester."[SK 9728 7042 area centred at:] Inscr. reads: IMP CAES P.I.V.A.E.
