CHURCH OF ST NICHOLAS

A Norman parish church with later alterations, repairs and restoration in 1878 by James Fowler.
Built of limestone rubble and ashlar with slate roof, the church consists west tower, nave, north and south aisles, south porch, chancel and vestry. The upper, ashlar faced parts of the tower are a rebuild dating to 1632 after the steeple collapsed. The lowest stage of the tower is 12th century.
