Summary : An Early Medieval to Medieval settlement mentioned in Domesday Book. No physical remains are visible, however a spread of Late Saxon and Medieval pottery has been recovered from the site.
More information : [Area SK 924 291 (3)] The lost village of Ganthorpe,
which is mentioned in Domesday, is represented by the name
Ganthrops, in the north-east corner of Stoke Rochford Park. The
site probably extended due south toward the Cringle Brook.

The majority of the area is under woodland, crop and a golf course
No evidence of desertion is visible. (4)

An examination of all the available air photographs, including those
refered to by authorities 1-3, revealed no evidence of the village
refered to by the previous authorities. (5)
