The original cast iron toll bridge was built by a group of Lincolnshire businessmen. The superstructure was upgraded in steel to carry a trunk road in 1975-6, although the original piers and abutments were retained and continue to carry the bridge. In 1994 the toll booth "plaza" was rebuilt and extended to accommodate four booths. (6) |
