MONUMENT NO. 322463

DESCRIPTION + /

Possible cell of Augustinian Canons, founded circa 1139, at Fiskerton. According to Tanner, a few canons were placed here soon after the manor was granted to Thurgarton Priory. But the places are only 2.5 miles apart, and it is more likely that there was a chapel at Fiskerton which was served by Thurgarton canons. (This could be the chapel of St Mary, SK75SW9).
