More information : [SK 62690595] MANOR HOUSE [G.T.] Manor House of site of .... (1) From the earliest times there were two manors of Humberstone. [See also SK 60 NW 10 and 12). The second manor house stood next door to the church and its foundations lie buried under the present house which was erected in 1726 - when the former building was demolished. (2) No remains apparently exist of the original manor house. The present house standing on the site, is known as Manor House and isof the 18th century [see T.2]. (3) Although old foundations were seen in the garden some years ago, nothing in Kendall's description suggests that they were medieval. The most likely site lies further to the east at SK 63070589 with dating evidence of the 13th cent. (See SK 60 SW 12). (4) No further information. (5)
