LANGLEY PRIORY

DESCRIPTION + /

Benedictine Nunnery founded circa 1150, dissolved 1536. At one point it became a Cistercian nunnery. Incorporated into a house during the 16th/17th century and later. The present house has a central block and side wings, the latter retaining Mediaeval fabric, but not enough to reconstruct the plan of the priory. Burials have been reputedly found.
