Historic England Research Records

Monument Number 31212

Hob Uid: 31212
Location :
Isle Of Man
Garff
Lonan
Grid Ref : SC4272079460
Summary : Site of a probable 7th-9th century cross, now probably stored in St Lonan's Church.
More information : [SC 42727946] Cross [NR] (1)

No trace of this cross remains at the site indicated in Authy 1 and no information concerning it was obtained during field investigation. As nearly all crosses in the Island have been removed to the parish churches it seems probable that it is one of the six crosses in St Lonan's Church - see [SC 47 NW 1] - where they are collectively dated from the 7th-9th C AD.
