More information : (SK 1203 0958) A town gate is shewn here on a plan shewing Lichfield as it was circa 1350 AD. (1) No trace of the gate remains. A plaque, at SK 12020958, reads "The site of the Tamworth Gate or bar of the city erected by Bishop Roger de Clinton (1129-1148) who also surrounded the city by a moat.
