The circular stone coastal fort on Pollock Rock, Douglas was built in
?1539 to defend the harbour against invasion. Alterations and
additions were made at several times during the 17th century and
re-armament over the period of the Napoleonic Wars (1793 - 1815). Thefort was demolished in 1818. (2 & 3)
