Summary : Prehistoric field system located on north western Porth Hellick Down.
More information : A field system centred at SV 9277 1088 extends over 4 hectared of a slight south slope between Water Rocks Down and Porth Hellick. A proper assessment is virtually impossible because of the dense scrub and furze which covers the area. Earth and stone banks 2 metres across and 0.3 metres high and lynchets of similar size are mostly visible where they are crossed by modern tracks and paths. Although almost certainly prehistoric in origin the system does not seem to encroach eastwards upon that part of Port Hellick Down which is occupied by cairns (SV 91 SW 35). (1) Regular field system located on north western Porth Hellick Down. Scheduled.(2)
