More information : Found during field investigation at NT 82150184 an irregular-shaped enclosure formed by a slight earthen bank with an internal gutter. Although designated an antiquity by a Ministry of Defence star sign, it appears to be of no great age, and may well be no more than the remains of a temporary type of sheep-fold. Surveyed at 6" scale. (1) The remains of a turf banked irregular shaped enclosure on gently sloping grassland on the west side of Sills Burn. It measures 50.0m east-west by 40.0m transversely between the centres of a turf bank (spread to about 2.0m and 0.5m maximum height) formed from the debris from a small internal ditch now almost infilled. The only trace of a possible entrance is central to the north side. The enclosure appears to have had a small sub-division in the south west corner but otherwise the flat but sloping interior is featureless. The enclosure is definitely not defensive and from the fairly sharp profile of the abnk in the north is apparently quite modern and almost certainly the remains of a stock enclosure possibly associated with NT 80 SW 10 (Bout 160m to the south south east) or the old steading of Pity Me 130m due north. Surveyed at 1:10 000 on MSD. (2)
