Summary : Country house of 17th century date incorporating earlier work in its western wing. Rebuilt in 1790-2 and altered in 1819. The building was divided into a vicarage and hospital in the late 19th century but has since been converted to a masonic club with adjoining flats. Three storeyed and U-shaped in plan, built of sandstone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof. The older material in the west wing is thought to have formed part of a 14th century pele tower. |

Vicarage (NAT) (2) "Ellison Hall Infirmary is the east two thirds of Hebburn Hall, a 17th century house rebuilt or refaced completely in 1790. Gde II*. St John's Vicarage is the west third of Hebburn Hall. This part is said to be "Queen Anne" but is uniform with the rest of the 1790 work externally. Gde II*. (3) Ellison Hall Infirmary is now known as Ellison Hall Masonic Club, in excellent condition. St John's Vicarage is no longer used as a vicarage and now converted to two flats known as No 1 and No 2 Marley Munro Villas. In excellent condition, external walls having been repointed.
