Hut on East Humbleton Hill. (2)
A scooped hut circle, on a steep hill-slope facing East. Diameter 5.2m. With a broad bank of earth and stones around the East side. The entrance was probably on the South side. (3)
The circle appears to be a genuine hut site, and the type associated with local Romano-British settlement: but isolated and free-standing huts in this context are comparatively rare in the County. Published survey (25") revised. (4)
The hut circle is sub-oval in shape measuring 5.0m by 7.0m. Surveyed at 1:2500. (5) |
