More information : NZ 395255. Grindon deserted medieval village. (1) Beresford noted the site, and while acknowledging that according to the VCH (a), "There is not, and apparently never has been, a village", he quotes Hatfield's Survey of 1382 (b) as suggesting a village. (Nothing visible on available air photographs, RAF 1948).(2)
