At Shotton is a series of banks and ditches forming small enclosures.

The banks average 3m in width by 0.8m high and are grass-covered, the construction not being visible. They appear to represent raised house-platforms and the walls of small enclosures.

Running from east to west is a hollow averaging 1.5m deep by 7m wide. This may be either a roadway or a dried water course. (2)

No change since report of 4.6.57. Surveyed at 1:2500. (3)

Reference that in 1387 John Karrowe held land and tenements in Shotton. (4)
