More information : ['A' SU 9472 1258 & 'B' SU 9468 1250] Tumuli [G.T.] [3] ['C' SU 9469 1248] Two bowl barrows the one furthest west being 10 ft. high. (1-2) The tumulus at 'B' is very large and about 10' high. The boundary mound is carried right over it. There is a depression in the centre of the mound. (3) Three bowl barrows are situated on and east of the parish boundary bank in Eartham Wood, Forest Commission land. 'A' appears as one low, spread mound, 17.0 m. in. diameter, 0.7 m. in height with no visible ditch. It has been mutilated during afforestation and the surface of the mound is very hummochy. Covered with close-growing trees. Condition poor. 'B' A large mound, 23.0 m. in diameter, 1.1 m. in height, which is cut, and thereby seriously mutilated, by a parish boundary bank with a ditch on both sides. The barrow has also been dug into at the centre. Around the N. half the barrow is ditched, the ditch varying in width from 5.0 m. to 6.0 m. and having a maximum depth of 0.4m. The feature is covered with undergrowth and bushes, and is in poor condition. 'C' In good condition, 10.5 m. in diameter, 0.6 m. high. Tree-covered. No visible ditch. Published survey (25" 19 ) revised. (4) No change: survey of 18.9.62 still correct. (5)
