Notes - Worked flints from Nos. 7 and 19 are in the Piggott collection. Barrow No. 5 is perhaps a bell barrow: berm on SE. (2) Grinsell's number used throughout: 1. Bell Barrow: tree covered and heavily overgrown but remains of berm and ditch still recognisable. Overall diameter 47.0 m., height 2.5 m. 2. Bowl barrow: tree covered, good condition, diameter 19.0 m., height 1.5 m. 3. Bowl barrow: ditched, tree covered, good condition. Diameter 28.0 m., height 1.5 m. An apparent berm on the S. side is the result of mutilation. 4. Disc barrow: a low, near circular bank, some 42.0 m. in diameter overall, with a mound in the enclosed area measuring 10.0 m. in diameter E-W, 12.0 m. in diameter transversely, and 0.8 m. in height. There is the faint remains of an outer ditch visible mainly on the SW side. Nothing remains of the second mound formerly in the central area. 5. Bowl barrow: 30.0 m. in diameter, and 2.0 m. in height: tree covered, good condition, but no trace of berm on SE noted by Grinsell. 6. Bowl barrow, 26.0 m. in diameter, 1.6 m. in height. Tree covered, slightly mutilated in NE quadrant but generally in good condition. 7. Bowl barrow 27.0 m. in diameter E-W, 24.0 m. in diam. transversely, and 1.5m in height. There is a low bank on the S side but whether this a later feature or not could not be determined. 8. Bowl barrow 28.0 m. in diameter E-W, 24.0 m in diameter transversly and 1.5 m. in height. Situated upon a slight rise, tree covered, good condition. 9. Bowl barrow 17.0 m. in diameter and 1.2 m. in height, fair condition. 10. Bowl barrow some 23.0 m in diameter and 1.7 m in height. Mutilated on both E and W sides. Fair condition. 11. Bowl barrow 28.0 m. average diameter and 1.5 m. in height. Tree covered, slightly mutilated on E side but in good condition. 12. Saucer barrow 14.0 m. overall diameter, 0.2 m in height. The bank is very slight on the SE side otherwise in good condition. 13. Bowl barrow, average diameter 31.0 m., height 2.1 m. Extensively dug into in centre, fair condition. 14. ?Saucer barrow: comprises a near circular platform 16.0 m. in diameter, set into a natural slope, with a slight bank around the SW side and a scarp about 1.0 m in height around the NE side. Heavily overgrown and mutilated, poor condition. 15. Bowl barrow, 24.0m in diameter E-W, 21.0m in diameter transversely, and 1.0 m in height. Tree covered, good condition. 16. Saucer barrow up to 14.0 m in diameter overall and 0.2m in height. Mutilated on N side; poor condition. 17. Unlocated: probably destroyed by the fairway of the golf course. 18. Bowl barrow, 22.0m in diameter, 1.0 m in height. Tree covered, good condition. 19. Bowl barrow (gutted): the base remains as a bank 19.0m in diameter and 0.7m in height, surrounded by a slight ditch. Situated on a fairway. 20. Bowl barrow 24.0m in diameter, 1.5m in height. Tree covered and in good condition. 21. Bowl barrow 26.0m in diameter, 0.9m in height. Tree covered, mutilated on NE side but generally in good condition. Published 25' surveys revised. (3-4) No change. (5) No change. 1:2500 Surveys correct. (6)
