This is probably that manor house for which licences were granted to fortify in 1266 and 1349. (5,6)
Strictly speaking the licence granted in 1266 to Henry Husse was a licence to crenellate. The reference to 1349-50 is a useful description of the house contained in a Close Roll (where it is dated 1350) but this is not a licence to crenellate. (7-8) |
