Summary : House constructed between 1749-51 by William Jones for Lord Rodney on the site of an earlier manor house.
More information : (SU58893367) Old Alresford House (T.I.). (1) "On the east side of the churchyard is the site of the manor of Old Alresford, whereon stands a mansion house built by Sir George Brydges Rodney, Bart, about the year 1752, on the same spot where the ancient manor house stood ....". (2) Old Alresford House is a large red brick mansion. Admiral Lord Rodney (1719-92) considerably enlarged and improved the original house. (3) 18th c. mansion but not outstanding. (4) Grade 2 .
