More information : (SU 38615227) (1) A round barrow, 55ft in diameter by 4ft 6ins in height, explored by Dewar about 1906. (1) A circular cist cut into the chalk, which had been roofed with sandstone, was found to contain a cremation and a few unidentifiable sherds. A fine BA type scraper, found in the old excavation in 1949, is in the Dewar Collection in Winchester Museum. (2) Surveyed at 1:10 560. (3) Subsequent publication (SU 38595227) Tumulus (NR). (4) Mutilated remains of a bowl barrow, 17.0m in dia by 1.5m in height, which is constructed mainly of flint. It is situated on a steep N slope, in very dense deciduous woodland. Surveyed at 1:2500. (5) No change since report of 12.1.67. A central excavation hollow measures 6.0m across and 1.0m in depth. 1:2500 survey of 14.12.66 revised. Detail transferred to MSD. (6)
