This is situated opposite Hawthorn Terrace, Walbottle, 545 yards E of milecastle 10. Only the S wall could be examined and this was 19 feet long with the doorway in the normal position. (2)
No visible remains. The site is covered by a modern road. (3)
The North of England Excavation Committee, between 1926-28, found the S wall of the turret below the hedge on the N side of the road, 19 feet long with an entrance facing south in `the usual position', but offered no precise locational information (4a). Colingwood and Taylor in 1928 report that the turret was found 570 yards from milecastle 10 (4b). No surface trace; the measured position only, based on the above excavation report, has been depicted on the RCHME overlay at NZ 1696 6658; this is 25m SE of the OS position. (4)
