More information : (SU 11544175) Long Barrow (AT). (1) Amesbury 14. A ditched long barrow 100 ft in length, 50 ft wide and 5 1/2 ft high. It is orientated SSE-NNW. Excavations by Colt Hoare (Barrow 165) and W. Cunnington failed to locate any burials. Thurnam found the remains of three primary skeletons to the south east, two of the skulls of which had been cleft before burial. There were two crouched round-headed secondary burials. (2-3)
A small long barrow 1.8m high with shallow but well defined side ditches. Published 1:2500 survey revised. (4)

SU 11544175. A long barrow situated on a south facing slope on the southern edge of Stonehenge Down. Scheduling amended. (7)
The barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, and has been mapped by both RCHME's Salisbury Plain Training Area NMP and EH's Stonehenge WHS Mapping Project. (8)
Surveyed at 1:1000: long barrow oriented SSE-NNW, 33m in length, 18m maximum width, with a 4m by 16m spread bank along the summit; total height 1.6m; the side ditches are 8m wide. (9)
