Summary : Three Bronze Age bowl barrows situated 250 metres north east of Shepherds Shore on Bishops Cannings Down. All 3 mounds have been reduced by cultivation. The southern most barrow was excavated in the 1850s when a crouched female skeleton was found. Faint traces of all three round barrows are visible on aerial photographs. Scheduled.

(A) 50 - SU 04746641 - Bowl 34 x 3/4 ft.
(B) 51 - SU 04756639 - Bowl 30 x 3/4 ft
(C) 52 - SU 04776638 - Bowl 24 x 1/2 ft
Excavated by J. Thurnham. Primary crouched female skeleton found with head to north. (2)

(A) SU 04746640, an almost ploughed out bowl barrow 0.2 metres high.

(B) SU 04756638, an almost ploughed out bowl barrow 0.3 metres high.

There is no trace of (C). (3)

The three Bronze Age barrows, referred to by the previous authorities, are faintly visible on aerial photographs. `A', `B' and `C' or Bishops Cannings 50-52 are visible as cropmarks of slight mounds 10 metres (`A' and `B') and 5m (`C') in diameter. (4-5)
