HOCBERRY ROMAN VILLA

DESCRIPTION + /

A Roman corridor villa first recorded in 1630 was excavated in 1800. The exact location of the villa site seems uncertain, although it is believed to lie within the field named Hocberry to the north of Rodmarton. This area was surveyed from aerial photographs as part of The Cotswold Hills NMP project. Several possible cropmark sites were identified and mapped from aerial photographs as potential locations for the villa and/or the archaeological excavations of 1800.
