Summary : Two socketed bronze axes found on or in a long barrow near Scratchbury Camp
More information : Two socketed bronze axes said to have been found 'in'
(or on?) a long barrow near Scratchbury Camp, are listed separately
by Grinsell, without quoting the source of his information. One was
a socketed axe with one rib, found c 1880, queried as in a private
collection; the other was of N European (Montelius 6) type - in a
private collection and Grinsell queries the reliability of the
record. (Sited by Grinsell to ST 920450 ? and ST 920460 ?
respectively). (1)

There are three long barrows near Scratchbury Camp, at ST 91854596,
ST 92584595 and ST 92494417. No further information. (2)
