LANHILL BARROW

DESCRIPTION + /

A Neolithic chambered long barrow is visible as an earthwork on air photographs. Excavations were undertaken in 1855, 1909, 1936 and 1963 which produced multiple inhumation burials, Neolithic pottery and flakes. The barrow is defined by an earthern mound but no trace of flanking ditches is evident. It is extant on the latest 2012 oblique photography.
