(1-3) These finds are sited to ST 8220 6848 from an O.S.6" at Devizes Museum. Shaw-Mellor is dead. His collection is now at Devizes but has not yet been sorted. (4)
Gold coin of Galba (A.D.68-69), found c.1925 in the garden of "The Wilderness", adjacent to Box House, site of RB villa (ST86NW2).The discovery of this coin and the Durotrigian coin mentioned above, of similar date, suggests that the earliest phases of the villa, or its predecessor, may be found in this area.
