MONUMENT NO. 20595

A Bronze Age hoard of probable Middle Bronze Age date was found at Farnley in 1835, about 13 feet below the surface during railway cutting operations. The hoard comprises fragments of two spearheads, pieces of dagger blades, and a flanged axe. The spearheads are in Blackgate Museum, the remainder in Alnwick Museum.
