ST MARYS CHURCH

DESCRIPTION + /

11th century tower. South doorway late 12th century. The rest of the church is mainly 13th century, restored in 1857. Plan of Chancel, aisled transepts, nave, south porch, West tower and vestry. The church contains mid 10th to early 11th century cross fragments. The church was granted to Hexham Priory in 1378, a master and 3 canons being maintained in times of peace.
