YATE COURT

Ruined remains of a moated manor house, built in the early to mid 16th century, possibly incorporating parts of a late 13th century manor house, granted a licence to crenellate in 1299. The standing remains comprise part of the hall and part of the gatehouse. The manorial buildings were set around a courtyard and surrounded by an oval moat. The house was razed in 1644.
