MELLS MANOR HOUSE

Early 16th century house which was originally part of the grange to Glastonbury Abbey. Alterations were carried out in the 17th century. The house was originally H-shaped on plan but the centre and north wing were demolished in 1780. A restoration was carried out from circa 1900 by Edwin Lutyens. Built of Doulting rubble with ashlar stacks and lead roofs.
