PRIORS HILL FORT

Site of an English Civil war fort on Prior's Hill, recorded from documentary evidence. It is recorded as having had two tiers of loopholes, and was armed with 13 cannon. Captured by the Royalists in 1643, it fell to Parliament in 1645.
